MEKK Announces Pricing
16 October 2007 -- MEKK, a manufacturer of unique kit car
frames, announced today pricing for their kit car frames. After 12 months of
development and over 20 changes to the original design, frames are now available
in two forms. A fully tacked version is immediately ready for final welding.
However, this form must be shipped motor freight and delivered to a commercial
address. A second version is partially tacked. The difficult and alignment
critical suspension cradle along with the front portion of the side rails is
completely tacked. The rear shallow angle of the side rails are also tacked.
Side rails are scribed for positioning the cross member. Brackets are provided
to align and strengthen the side rail to suspension assembly joint. This version
requires more work by the purchaser but can be shipped UPS.
The completely tacked version uses two pieces of continuous, v notched, and
bent tubing for the side rails. This construction method provides maximum
strength because it doesn't depend entirely upon the quality of a purchaser's circumferential
welds.
Alignment brackets provide additional strength where circumferential welds
are required in the partially tacked frame version.
Pricing on the frames is $1895 for fully tacked frames and $1795 for
partially tacked frames. Both frame versions some with a pictorial
instruction/assembly manual. Additional components are available to create a
complete roller. These include a new manufacture Brazilian VW type front
suspension, a disk brake kit with rotors drilled for Neon wheels (4 or 5 on
100mm), brake hoses, and a proportioning valve, a special "extension"
electrical cable allows use of the Neon instrumentation, longer power steering
hoses, seat mounts, and a special width front suspension. A VW type floor will
be available later this year.
All other parts need to build a complete vehicle are provided by the donor or
the fiberglass body.
